Google Now Shows You When Its AI Quotes Your Site. Here's How to Check

Most of us are still checking only our blue-link rankings. Meanwhile Google has quietly started showing you something bigger.

It now tells you when your site gets pulled into AI Overviews and AI Mode. Those AI answers sitting at the top of the results.

Not clicks. Not CTR yet. Just one thing: how often your page showed up inside the AI answer. And that data is sitting in your Search Console right now, free.

Here's how to see yours in 5 minutes:

1️⃣ Open Search Console, then Performance, then Search results.

2️⃣ Find the "Search Appearance" area (some accounts show a dedicated AI/generative filter).

3️⃣ Filter for the AI Overviews / AI Mode appearances.

4️⃣ Sort by pages. The ones showing up are pages Google's AI already trusts enough to quote.

5️⃣ Check the countries too. If your impressions are coming from Nigeria, your content is landing with the exact people you want.

What to do with it:

✅ Pages getting AI impressions but little normal traffic are your quick wins. Tighten the intro and put a clear, direct answer near the top so you keep getting cited.

✅ Pages not showing up at all? Rewrite them to answer one clear question in the first two lines. The AI pulls clean, direct answers, not waffle.

One honest caveat: there's no click data yet, so this shows visibility, not traffic. But visibility inside that AI box is where the next fight is. Better to know now than find out when everyone else does.
